Hello & nice to meet you! I’m Shar!
I was four years old when I decided -- I want to be an artist.
I am 22 years old. I love photography and design. I shoot with a Canon DSLR, a Minolta SLR, and a Polaroid instant camera. I graduated from California State University, Sacramento in May 2008 with a B.A. Photography, Magna Cum Laude. I studied Photography under amazing professors, such as Jessamyn Lovell, Nigel Poor, and Sharmon Goff. While attending CSUS, I studied Japanese for two years under Junko Ito, who is one of the best professors I have ever had. I am Alumni Chair of the CSUS Japan Club and assisted with a number of design projects as well as photographed events.
I taught myself crochet and knitting in 2002. I launched my webshop at shop.mmm-fruit.com in 2003, and have since had my work carried internationally through various online boutiques and brick-and-mortar stores, including Plain Mabel, Modishoppe, and Superette (London). My work can also be found in the following books: Just Gifts (Lion Brand Yarn), Kooky Crochet (Linda Kopp), and The Craftster Guide to Nifty, Thrifty, and Kitschy Crafts (Leah Kramer).
Random tidbits: I love... baking, eating, cooking; gaming; watching television network shows (e.g. LOST, Desperate Housewives, Grey’s Anatomy); listening to electro-lounge, bossa nova, and Japanese rock; reading chick lit; crafting, swapping, sending &receiving mail.
